She can work with all hair types, so I would recommend her for Asians too. All of the stylists at this salon are highly experienced, and although most of the customers are older, the stylists' techniques are by no means outdated, so it is recommended for younger people as well."

"I’ve been going to Astor Place Hair for many years, and get great hair styles and color, that I’m very happy with. Astor Place has maintained its eclectic character, with a variety of stylists and customers, which is salt of the earth, NYC. So much more interesting than chic salons. But remember, cash only. I recommend the stylist, Irma, she’s always upbeat, friendly and is very skilled. She consistently gives a great cut and blow dry that really lasts. She does beautiful color, and when I get my hair highlighted by her, she’s very meticulous, and I receive many compliments. Like with all hairstylists, you must communicate what you want clearly before starting, pictures are a good guide. One drawback are the uncomfortable chairs where you get your hair washed, and also it would be nice if there was some kind of refreshments. Atmosphere wise, It’s not a high end beauty salon, but you do get lovely quality hair services, and I’m glad to have found Irma."
